Support a Cause: Save Africa's Last Remaining Rhinos

Care2 Petitionsite Action Alert
action alert!
The Western black rhino is already extinct and the only two remaining rhino species in Africa are not far behind. Even as poachers increasingly kill off the dwindling number of remaining rhinos, there is one last chance to save Africa's rhinos.

Not one Western black rhino has been seen since 2006. The subspecies is extinct and now only two species of rhinos survive in Africa, but their population is shrinking. Without stronger protection from poachers, the remaining rhinos are doomed to a fate similar to those of their genetic relatives. It's time to include rhinos in the Endangered Species Act.

But there is hope — the U.S. is acting now to list rhinos as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Urge our government to stand up to poachers and protect Africa's last remaining rhinos!

Driven by a lucrative black market, poachers are driving rhinos into extinction. If the U.S. government adds the African rhinos to the Endangered Species Act, then poachers can no longer get away with murder. Conservation and anti-poaching efforts will grow stronger, granting us a chance to save Africa's rhinos! Let's express support for the movement to protect the endangered African rhinos.

We can no longer stand by and allow poachers to continue the reckless killing as the remaining rhinos face extinction. By the end of 2014, projections show that 1,027 more rhinos will be killed. But we have a chance to protect these very rhinos from their deaths and looming extinction.

The time to act is now if we want to save rhinos in Africa. Take action to demand protection and conservation of Africa's last remaining rhinos!
