action alert! The Western black rhino is already extinct and the only two remaining rhino species in Africa are not far behind. Even as poachers increasingly kill off the dwindling number of remaining rhinos, there is one last chance to save Africa's rhinos.
Not one Western black rhino has been seen since 2006. The subspecies is extinct and now only two species of rhinos survive in Africa, but their population is shrinking. Without stronger protection from poachers, the remaining rhinos are doomed to a fate similar to those of their genetic relatives. It's time to include rhinos in the Endangered Species Act.
